Rage (The Marcy series Book 1) by Linda Burson starts us down the rabbit hole that is Marcy’s life. When we start this journey, it looks like Marcy has everything a girl could ask for. A good job, a nice home, and a loving fiancée are all hers. Then the nightmares start. Before long the sleepless nights begin to take their toll on her and it gets to the point where her fiancée demands that she either get help or he’s leaving. It is at this point that things begin to take a left turn into the bizarre. After a life-threatening event pushes her over the edge Marcy meets Liam and agrees to help him find and take revenge against the man that killed his family.
This was an interesting book to say the least. The plot is very much dialogue driven and every conversation has a feeling of authenticity to it that can be hard to find in some books. The dramatic and suspenseful elements were very well done and helped to keep me interested. All in all, a solid five star read and I look forward to reading the next in this series.

The story Rage (The Marcy Series Book 1) by Linda Burson is a book that I enjoyed reading. It is a story that draws you in and didn’t let me go until I have read the final page. It is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Marcy and Liam. Marcy is an intelligent, beautiful, and feisty woman. She runs a business and some of those who work with her are more like family than employees. The love of her life has given her an ultimatum to seek help for her anger, frustrations because of nightmares that she is having. She also is a woman who finds herself falling in love with Liam. Liam is a man who is on a quest to find those responsible for his family’s murder and finds an ally in Marcy. Liam’s character is mysterious and as the story unfolds, I found myself with many questions about him. Marcy is conflicted and at times overwhelmed. Read this story for an emotional rollercoaster that will have you turning pages wondering what will happen next. There are other characters that are introduced in this story and many of them I enjoyed reading about and their interactions with Marcy. There is intense dialogue. I grew to care about Marcy and there are situations in which I could empathize with her and what she experiences. This is a wonderful book to read and one that will keep you reading far into the night to find out what happens. Recommended reading.

She is filled with …. RAGE … and it is pushing her to the edge and over it … she blows up when she happens onto a gas station robbery …. And things take a twisted turn from there … she catches the attention of Liam who takes her (willingly) down a dark path … and let’s not forget about Brad … the passion and tension and love and lust they share …
The twists and turns and the human nature, oh what a tale the writer spins! I am ready for the next book … I wonder what path the writer is taking us down … (or maybe it is a tunnel …)

Agony and Ecstasy is the intriguing third book in the Marcy Series by Linda Burson. The story continues from book two, so I would recommend reading the first two books before beginning this one. The more this story evolves, the more I am realising how well thought out the entire bridging storyline is. Ms. Burson has infused her story with a lot of suspense, drama, dilemmas, emotion, humour, complex characters in complicated relationships and interactions, and quite a few surprises/surprising developments.
Ms. Burson really writes well, pulling you into the story and keeping you hooked right through to the end. I laughed, cried, and got lost in this fabulous story. For me, that is the sign of a skilled writer. I have really enjoyed this series so far, but this is definitely my favourite to date.
The story has a great pace and is easy to read, it evolves beautifully and unexpectedly the further into the story/series I go. The characters have also developed and evolved along with the storyline. They tell an intriguing and very believable tale that I can’t wait to continue in the next book. Marcy, Brad and Liam have been through a lot and in this story, they continue to deal with nightmares, therapy sessions, making major decisions, dealing with shocking revelations, and more.
All this awaits in this awesome read! Bring on the next book!

Agony and Ecstasy is the third book in the Marcy series by Linda Burson and I think this is my favorite of the series so far. I didn’t find myself as annoyed my Marcy as I did in the first two book which was a good thing, but that never stopped me from reading the books and not want to put them down. Marcy has done a lot of growing and healing in this series and I have a feeling that there is still a lot more to come for her.
Marcy has such a great group of friends and she knows it, but doesn’t realize how much she will come to depend on them until one day when she least expects it. There are so many things that happen in this book, Marcy and Liam are strong, Marcy finds out more about her past and her connection to someone she didn’t even know about until memories come flooding back. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. I have a feeling the drama is nowhere close to being over.

The story Caught In A Lie (The Marcy Series Book 6) by Linda Burson is a contemporary romance book. It is the next story in the lives of Marcy, Liam, and Brad. The story revolves around these three and the situations that they find themselves in. The past has a way of coming back as one of the characters find out. There is also a happy event on the horizon. Marcy is a strong, smart, beautiful woman. She owns a successful business and has wonderful friends and family that help her. There are times when she feels intense love and also intense frustration. She has times of confusion, doubt, guilt, and anger. There are also complications that arise. I also really enjoyed reading about the other characters who interact with Marcy. They are true friends and also family members who are there for her when she needs help the most. This story has times when there is conflict. There are also times of romance. This is another well-written story that I didn’t want to put down until I had finished the last page. As the characters are brought forward and situations are referenced from the previous books, I would recommend reading this series in order. I am hoping for another book in the series to find out what direction the story and characters go next.

I will start with that this book is part of a complex connecting plot line from the other five books. So I highly suggest that you read these books in order. If not, you will be confused and lost, as there is so much going one, so many twist turns and revelation that will cause confusing if not followed correctly.
This sixth book was something, Linda Burson has really displayed their writing skills in this instalment and in my opinion, is the best book in the series so far. This was very Marcy centered, well it was more Marcy centered then the others. The tempo was high, the emotions were raw. Liam, and Brad are there their giving their support. What I liked is that we get to see a different, darker side to Marcy. That really made this story stand out, and for me, brought something new to a character as long running as Marcy. That is how you evolve a story.
Overall, this series has me hooked, and I can’t wait to see if more are coming. The ending gives enough to hope, so hope I shale. Please take my super high recommendation that you will be invested in this series, in Marcy, Liam and Brad. Their situation isn’t like anything you have read, and the books just keep getting better and better. Happy Reading

I love these characters and feel like I am a part of their journey, their love, their life, their unwavering love and commitment to each other. Emotions run high and strong from anger and frustration, insecurities and love, pain and heartache, heartbreak and excitement and you feel every one of them. When they laugh you laugh, when they break you break with them. I love and enjoy reading about Marcy and the men in her life. Let me tell you, there were tears shed reading this one. As usual Linda’s words had me turning page after page to see what was going to happen next and I couldn’t stop until I had finished devouring each and every word. The next book cannot come quick enough.

This book is probably the most emotional book out of the series thus far, at least in my opinion. Things seem to be going well, but as I suspected after reading the previous books, it all goes wrong in a colossal way. I think I cried for two to three whole chapters. Men expressing emotion gets me every time. The author does a wonderful job of portraying the lengths we will go to because of unhealed trauma.
Beautiful tragedy sums up a lot of the story line in this book. It’s like a train wreck, you want to look away, but you can’t. I can hardly wait for the seventh book to come out!

From the first meeting, to everything in between, a reader cannot help but be swept away with the clever and astute writing style Linda Burson exhibits in each book. I am always rendered speechless with the goings on in the lives of the three main characters. And exhausted, as I have to read each story in one sitting, no matter the time. Linda Burson is a captivating storyteller of a series that is gripping and all consuming. 5 stars

Even though Liam’s still gone on an overseas mission, Marcy does her best to have a semblance of a normal life. She and Brad on back on track and having a fantastic time together. Dave and Josie’s bachelor and bachelorette parties are at hand. The couples separate to do their own thing. After the party, Marcy decides to head over to the apartment in the city since Josie’s apartment is too small for all the ladies. When she arrives, she gets an unwelcomed surprise.

Linda Burson’s Marcy Series starts off wonderfully with these three books. The intriguing story of a woman who loves two men at the same time seems totally absurd. How Marcy handles this among the other revelations in her life is somewhat amazing! These books are truly books that you need to have on your TBR list.
Marcy is the owner of the Coffee, Tea, and Treats bakery in Cold Spring Harbor. In Rage, readers learn of Marcy’s rage that she has used several times to get her out of jams. Unfortunately, it also makes things difficult for her longtime boyfriend, Brad. She eventually starts seeing a psychiatrist who helps her find the cause of her rage. In the meantime, Brad has big plans which lead to an engagement. Only this engagement last only a few days. After Brad breaks up with her, Marcy turns to her friend Liam for a trip out of town which leads to her falling in love with a second guy.
In book 2, Confusion, Marcy decides that she can’t handle relationships with both men. Unfortunately, the situation is not so easily managed, and she soon realizes that one of her men has been leading her with his behavior and his actions. She realizes love often means being able to give up what you most desire to have that person be happy.
In book 3, Agony and Ecstasy, Marcy’s life turns upside down once again as the best-laid plans in life aren’t always what happens. Where does Marcy find love and happiness in her life? And at what cost does this actually happen?
Review by Hornsfan73: 5.0 out of 5 Stars. Strong finish to 1st set. Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2021. Rage is the first book in the Marcy series by Linda Burson. I liked the book overall and I was looking forward to reading the second book, but I found myself a little confused and now have a ton of questions. I had been down with a pretty bad cold when I started so I can’t help but wonder if that has something to do with my confusion, or if I was led to be confused on purpose by the author. If that is the case, she did a good job.
Confusion is the second book in the series. I found myself getting very frustrated with Marcy in this book. The back and forth was never ending or at least that is the way it seemed to me. There were times I really wanted to shake her and get her to make up her mind between Brad and Liam. I like the supporting cast as much if not more than the main characters and I hoped to find them in more prominent roles in the following books.
Agony and Ecstasy is the third book in the series and I think this is my favorite of the series so far. I didn’t find myself as annoyed my Marcy as I did in the first two book which was a good thing, but that never stopped me from reading the books and not want to put them down. Marcy has done a lot of growing and healing in this series and I have a feeling that there is still a lot more to come for her.

Have you ever been so frustrated, overtired and filled with so much RAGE that only one little thing will push you over the edge….. Well this is where Marcy finds herself. One nightmare has driven her to the brink of uncomfortable RAGE. She’s alienated everyone close to her. And now to make matters worse the man she loves has given her an ultimatum, she has to get help or it’s over (what an ass).
Just when she thinks life can’t get any worse, she gets held at gunpoint…. that’s when it happens, that’s the point where her RAGE gets pushed over the edge of no return.
But as luck will have it, that’s when she meets the one person that might just be able to get her back from the brink of disaster.
This is a, on the edge of your seat, nail biting, page turning kind of book.
Linda Burson knows how to hook you into a book coma. Marcy is a very well thought out character. The storyline definitely leaves you wondering. Don’t blink or you will miss something and believe me you will not want to miss anything.
Great start to a great series.
And what makes this even better is you het the first 3 books in 1!!!!
That’s a bonus because believe my you’re not gonna want to stop after the first book.

This series was very well written and kept me on the edge of my seat! I was invested in the characters from the very first chapter! Each story in this set is unique in its own way and keeps you interested with different twists and turns! You get a little bit of everything in these books: drama suspense action a love triangle ;-). This series and author come with my highest recommendation!

Message From Linda Burson: I decided to write a different kind of biography. While the one written in a few of my books is accurate, this one adds a bit more detail. This one will give you the complete reason while I decided to not only write a novel, but to finally complete it, as well as continue writing.
Life is short. Yes, you’ve heard that cliché many, many times, I’m sure. For me, however, I understand it and feel it to my core. There are those of you who may feel it as deeply as me. Whether you changed your life completely, well, only you would know that. As for me, that’s exactly what I did, and the true reason I am now writing full time.
I had two close calls in my life, close as in the end of my life as we know it here on earth. This makes one stop and think. It certainly made me stop and think, a lot. It made me appreciate what I have, but it also made me consider if the life I was living and the direction it was heading was truly what I desired. This wasn’t a difficult decision for me. I always knew I wanted to write books, but as I said in the previous biography, something always seems to “get” in the way.
Besides the fact that physically I could have died twice, I did have four special people in my life who died way too young. They were all close to me as I was to them. The first important, irreplaceable person I lost was my mother who died from ovarian cancer. Next, was my brother who died due to heart issues; my best friend, who was more like a close sister, died due to breast cancer, and lastly, a cousin who was also a best friend to me, to suicide.
This alone should have been enough for me to make changes in my life. It did get me to seriously consider making these changes and attempt to start that writing career multiple times, but it didn’t push me over the edge enough to do it. It took me being diagnosed with breast cancer, not having great odds, and a couple of years contemplating my life that finally gave me the push I needed to close my business and write full time. It’s the second scare I experienced that keeps me writing.
So, if you don’t wake in the morning looking forward to starting your day, hopefully with a smile, then maybe you need to take a second look at the direction of your life. I found the joy and passion in writing books. Do I want to sell lots and lots of books? Of course. But that isn’t my driving force. I know not everyone is going to love my stories; but that doesn’t matter as much as the fact that I enjoy writing them. It makes me happy; it makes me full whole, and it makes me wake looking forward to starting my day because I know I have something waiting for me that I love to do.
