Author Biography:
John Wiessner (Jay Dubya) was born in Hammonton, New Jersey in 1942. He spent 34 years as a dedicated public school English teacher in New Jersey before retiring in 1999. His pen name, “Jay Dubya”, is a playful, phonetic corruption of his actual initials.
For 16 summers, John had owned Dealers Choice, a popular amusement arcade on the Ocean City, Maryland Boardwalk. He was also a partner in Wheel and Deal, a similar arcade operation on the Atlantic City, NJ boards, and also, for 8 summers, from 1973-1981, John had owned the New Horizon Beach and Tee Shirt Shop on the Rehoboth Beach, Delaware boards.
Starting in 1986, for 18 summers, John also worked as a main field manager in charge of crew-leaders for the Atlantic Blueberry Company. The world’s largest cultivated blueberry farm, located just outside Hammonton.
Following his retirement from education in June of 1999, J.W. turned his full attention to writing, eventually earning a nomination into Marquis Who’s Who in America and receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. John currently resides in Hammonton with his wife, Joanne, with whom he has three grown sons.
