Imagine That: The Magic of the Mysterious Lights by George Yuhasz

On a night when the sky is full of stars, sometimes there appears light that cannot be explained, even by the smartest astronomers…

Evelyn is a little girl who lives with her parents and brother in a house with a big backyard. On nights when the sky is filled with brightly shining stars, she loves to go outside before bed to see the Milky Way and the Big Dipper and dream about the planets.

But Evelyn has a secret: She is able to see flashes of light streaking across the night sky that no one else can see. And she’ll soon learn that her secret is actually a wonderful gift!

From The Author: I was inspired to write this children’s book by my granddaughter. Her fascination with the night sky and its celestial bodies was both infectious and provocative. This story was written not only as a labor of love, but also in response to the opportunity to celebrate the sense of wonder and awareness of young children. I hope that you and the children you love enjoy this book.

Review by Readers Favorite Book Review by Amy Raines 5 Stars: “Imagine That: The Magic of the Mysterious Lights is a wonderful children’s story with a unique but interesting plot. The characters are absolutely adorable and easy for children to identify with. I love how Yuhasz has used a magical theme as a means of sending a message to children that “knowledge is power” and the importance of using their imagination to visualize not just setting goals, but achieving them. I also love how the illustrations by Egle Bartolini tell the story just as smoothly as the words do. I recommend Imagine That to anyone who has children and loves the idea that magic and dreams are what shapes a child’s ambition for their future. I look forward to many more Imagine That stories by Yuhasz in the future.”

Review by A Wishing Shelf Book Review by Edward Trayer 5 Stars: “Imagine That: The Magic of the Mysterious Lights is thoughtfully written with a wonderful message for younger children. This book is all about imagination and how it is so very important to a child as they grow up and develop into adults. It’s also amazingly sweet. There was so much to enjoy from this picture book from George Yuhasz, whether it be the wonderfully playful language or the sweetly drawn characters. The style of the language is also perfect for a story of this nature and for this readership age of 6-9. It is simple and the rhythm is spot on. And, I am delighted to report, I didn’t spot a single grammatical error. Now to the illustrations-charming, wonderfully colorful with characters that simply jump off the page. This is a bit of a gem: highly recommended. I would think that any parent who is looking for a lightly written story for children aged 6-9 would find this book fits the bill perfectly.”
